Gem State Quiz (June 3)

5 Idaho-related questions that teachers can use for current events activities

By William Love, Sandpoint High School

I’m guessing there are not too many teachers that need some Idaho-specific current events questions at this point. But if you do need them — which I do — you are in luck.

The Lake Pend Oreille School District is usually one of the last districts in the state to call it a year. LPOSD is also one of the last districts to start because we have the entire month of August off. That is the best time of year to be around Sandpoint. June usually isn’t. That tradeoff is certainly one I will take. It is also the reason there is one more Gem State Quiz for this school year.

If you have any questions, or need the answer, send me an email at [email protected]. And, finally, have a great summer!

  • What are officials in the City of Sandpoint using to keep geese from its public beach?
  • What condition have a Boise couple, who started a business known as Behavior Imaging, developed an app for in the hopes that doctors can make a quicker assessment or diagnosis?
  • What school district installed firearms in its K-12 building and trained staff to use them in the case of an active shooter?
  • Which state senator did Gov. Butch Otter name as the next director of the Idaho Department of Insurance?
  • What novella did the Coeur d’Alene School Board vote 4-1 to keep on it ninth-grade reading list?
